People will look at you and say you’ve changed,

People will look at you and say you’ve changed, but do you really think I’ve worked this hard to stay the same? Nah. Fall has arrived, and so have I.

My core values will always stay the same, but I’ve made so many changes that have allowed me to flourish so beautifully in this season of my life. This fall is gonna be about more than pumpkin spice lattes, fall scented candles, cozy sweater dresses, and bad ass boots. It’s going to be about stepping out of my comfort zone, shedding all self doubt, owning my dopeness, being loud about my accomplishments, operating in my zone of genius, and sprinkling my magic along the way.

I love me some fall. But this year it hits different because this season of my life is already proving to be the best one yet. The trees are already showing how lovely it is to let dead things go.

As the last day of summer comes to an end, I’ll miss the sunny days, but I’m so ready for my favorite season! Also can’t stop fan girling over these gorgeous hazely green eyes and beautiful smile I get to look at forever 😜

I’m at the point in my life where I’ve fully relinquished control and let God order my steps. I’ve learned that when it comes to receiving your blessings, you gotta do your part, then get out the way. Heavy on the GET OUT THE WAY! I don’t know if you wanna hear this or not, but most of the time, it’s YOU blocking your own blessings.

You convincing yourself that you’re not ready. You holding on to people/ things you should have been let go. You not believing that you deserve to be in the space that God reserved specifically for you!⁣

Let that go. Walk in your purpose, do what you love, and sprinkle your magic along the way.

If you’ve ever met Sanai, then you can vouch that she’s literally one of the kindest little humans you’ve probably ever met. And while I wish I could say it was all my doing, it seems Sanai was just born with enough kindness in her heart to change the world.

[#AD] So, when I got the opportunity to partner with @hallmark to share their Little World Changers Initiative, I didn’t think twice.

The other day in the grocery store, Sanai begged me for a piece of candy. I told her that if she was a good helper, she could choose one item when we got to check out. Needless to say, she was on her best behavior, helping me get all the things we needed. We got to the checkout line and she got her candy, as promised. The second she opened it, a little girl in front of Sanai held her hand out, asking for the candy. Without me saying one word, Sanai looked at me and said “Mommy, can she have it? I can just have some of the snacks we got today.”

My heart burst into pieces.

As black women, we’ve been conditioned to be lou

As black women, we’ve been conditioned to be loud about our failures and shortcomings, but meek and humble about our accomplishments.

We’ve been convinced that when we speak publicly about our success, then we’re being too braggy or we’re not relatable. How about we all stop thinking people are bragging and get on our shit so we can relate 🙃🤷🏾‍♀️

The reality is, we should be just as 𝐋𝐎𝐔𝐃 about our blessings as we are about our shortcomings. Let’s normalize publicly patting ourselves on the back, because regardless of what the world wants us to think, we deserve! ⁣

The truth is, I’m honestly still speechless. It’s still surreal that I resigned from the job of my dreams only to still be working the job of my dreams. It’s wild. But if you know, you know.

And here’s what I know: God is GOOD. He has given me an assignment and I will not let Him down!

In the meantime, my goal is to always strive to be as fearless and confident as I was in this picture.

Goodbye corporate America✌🏾
Hello entrepreneurship 😅

When it comes to the toughest decisions I’ve had to make in my professional life, this is it without question. After 10 amazing years in the hospitality industry, I am officially walking away from the corporate world and pursuing my blogging business full time. Yes, you read that right. I resigned.

I’m tearing up as I type this because I took a HUGE leap of faith, stepped outside of my comfort zone, and most importantly, I betted on myself.

God has already shown me more favor than I deserve, so I can only imagine all the greatness He has in store for me being obedient and letting Him order my steps.

I won’t lie, I’m more scared than I’ve ever been, but I’m ready! I get to be more present as a wife & mom, and I get to pour my all into Cup of Consuella and all of my instafamily! Send me all the love and encouragement in the comments 🖤
