I woke up one morning and decided that I was not going to spend my whole life trading my time for money and the game changed.

This is a little long, but read it.

When I was younger, I thought that most wealthy people had one “good” job that made them rich. I thought they had a successful career that afforded them an extremely high salary, and then they saved their money until they became millionaires. I was so naive.

Like many African Americans, generational wealth and financial literary was not passed down to me. While my mother and father both have great careers, make a great living, and provided a great life for me and my siblings, they never scratched the surface of the kind of wealth I’m working to see in my lifetime. When I got into corporate America and saw the disadvantages that most minorities have in the finances and wealth department, I knew that I had to do my own research and take the necessary steps to set my family up for success. Major thanks to my financial advisor, @primediscussion for helping me so much along the way.

They say the average millionaire has 7 streams of income. And while I’m not a millionaire yet, I will be one. Mark my words.

To date, I have 4 streams of income that have generated me multiple six figures, collectively. On the blog, I’m sharing 7 income sources that most millionaires have, and how you can start adding some of those streams under your belt, too. I just did the math and it’s been 2,615 days since you walked into the Airport Marriott hotel. I remember that day like it was yesterday. And I can tell you, I didn’t think it would lead to this moment.

You told me within two weeks of knowing me that I would be your wife. And I thought to myself, “yeah, sure. I’ve heard this song before.”

The last 7 years have been quite the ride. There were beautiful times, there were ugly times. So ugly I didn’t think we would make it. But God. Putting Him first, fighting the problem and not each other, and healthy communication has been our saving grace. And maybe me learning how to shut the hell up sometimes and not always having to have the last word helped a little 😅

Thank you for being a better man for me and helping me to be a better woman for you. I love you more than all of the words in all of the dictionaries in all of the world. It’s us. Always us. I promise.

Me walking down the jetway to get on the plane to Miami! Spring break, here we come!

It’s been a long and hard two days, so a nice vacation is just what the doctor ordered. Sanai has been begging for vacation and misses our family, so I thought we could kill two birds with one stone by going to Miami. Richard has to work so we’re going mommy and me mode, and I’m geeked about it!

Bags are almost packed, I have one more errand to run, and then we’re headed to the airport! What are your spring break plans?

CLASS IS IN SESSION... starting April 15th! ⁣ In

Me looking back at Q1 like, girl you did that! 😌

I won’t even lie, the first quarter of the year was A LOT. There were so many changes happening in my life that I found it hard to keep my head above water. But even in the midst of it all, I’m so proud of what I’ve accomplished, and all that’s to come.

For starters, I got engaged!!! I get to spend the rest of my life with my very best friend and I’m still on a cloud that he planned such a perfect proposal. Now it’s time to plan the wedding. Imagine that! 😜

Sanai is excelling in school and in gymnastics! She’s being bumped up a class at the gym, and she got accepted into her school program for the fall. I can’t believe she’s going to big girl school 😭

I smashed my financial goals for the blog. I earned more revenue in the first quarter of 2021, than I did in 2020 Q1 and Q2 combined. My Q1 goal was a lofty one, and I beat it by $20k! Plus I inked a 5 figure contract with one of my favorite bourbon brands! Forgive me if I act funny for a lil bit 😂

Oh, and something exciting is happening this evening, so stay tuned! 😉
